Quarter Twenty One

The day has finally come – the oppening of the Quarter Twenty-One’s “gourmet providore”. Why my interest? Somewhere in the last few months, two hatted chef Justin North of Becasse has managed to taste some All the best products (amongst many others, no doubt) and selected ‘fennel mustard’ and ‘onion chilli jam’ to feature in he and his wife’s new complex at the Sydney Westfield shopping complex.

If you check out level 5 of the new Westfields, you will see that it feature North’s award-winning restaurant Becasse, which had been located at nearby Clarence St until a week ago, as well as their own cooking school, a providore, bakery and a second, more casual restaurant.

The first phase of the project, burger outlet Charlie & Co, opened in the food court last year. We are looking forward to the second order!!

At the local level, Maureen is heading off tomorrow to Ritchies’s Super IGA at Ballina to make our first delivery there where we will join a heap of other local producers in what has become a Northern Rivers’ Food section of this supermarket.

On the way home (after having the regular lunch date with her old teachers’ college mates at ‘Il Postino’ in Alstonville) she will be calling on another of our terrific local primary producers in the form of Andrew Tully at ‘Tree View’ Orchard at Lindendale. Andrew (02 6629 5004 FREE 02 6629 5004 ) grows excellent limes in his orchard and is well worth a call if you are interested in a quality product.

Then on Monday, we are off to Brisbane to do a few deliveries and meet up with some new possible outlets. It never seems to stop, but I’m not complaining – really!!
